Essentially, he is the figurehead of Catholicism. Instead of just one parish, the pope is basically charged with all of the believers across the world. Who is the Pope but a priest on a larger scale, right? The Young Pope, Sky Atlantic/HBO/Canal+ (2016) In later seasons, Chambers is replaced by his successor, Reverend William Davenport. Their methods are different but complementary, as Keating’s methodical training is softened by Chambers’ more intuitive approach.
